The Right Bathroom Remodeling

Deciding on revamping your home whether it’s for kitchen or bathroom remodeling, new flooring, re-carpeting, painting or a variety of projects involving what exactly it is that needs to be updated, replaced or completely removed can be a daunting task. Bathroom remodeling, while outwardly simple particularly if it involves a little bathroom remodeling project, still needs choices to be made based primarily on need, time commitment and cost.

Regardless of the size of the bathroom, they all have the same basic components of bathtub, shower, toilet and sink. Older houses can have a bath only with no shower while more recent houses can have a bath and shower but can accommodate a spa sized tub vs the standard tub. Standard or outdated sinks can get replaced and new cupboards and counters can be added or replaced together with more recent water saving taps and toilets. These are basic bathroom remodeling needs that should be considered and looked at before beginning any remodeling.

Once it’s determined what will be done to the bathroom it is also important to know how long the bathroom remodeling will take and how long you might be without facilities. It is best to plan on not having the employment of the bathroom for a few days. This is often a problem particularly if there is only 1 bathroom in the home. If cosmetic remodeling like floor tile or sink and counter top replacement is being done, this should take only a day to install but time must be allotted for drying of grout for tile floors. Complete remodeling of the bathroom including tub replacement and tiling of a shower can take much longer. Price of any bathroom remodeling project can run from cheap to terribly dear.

The price tag factor will be set by what’s being done, whether you are doing the work yourself, cost of materials, cost of work if employing a contractor and the standard of replacement fixtures which can run from top quality low-end pricing to top-end big brand pricing. If you’re working within a budget, purchase the best product that is going to have the most wear and tear. This would include toilets, sinks, bath fixtures and shower fixtures. Other areas to think about when bathroom remodeling is to use porcelain bathtubs, ceramic tile flooring and ceramic tiled shower stalls as these will hold up longer than vinyl and plastic.
